Ventana Lakes is Community on the edge of the Valley of the Sun. Age Restrictions apply to those purchasing in the community, and at least one resident must be 55 years of age or older. No dependent under the age of 18 may reside in the community for a period exceeding thirty days per year. This is a Lake community, with three artificial lakes that provide walking paths, recreational centers and Swimming Pools for the residents. There is no Golf Course, a fact that makes housing in the Subdivision less expensive than in some nearby retirement communities.

Ventana Lakes is located in the Northwest Valley at Beardsley and 99th Avenue [also known as Lake Pleasant Road]. Although it lies within the incorporated area of Peoria, Arizona, some of the subdivision has a post office address of Sun City, which lies just to the South of the Subdivision.  See THIS MAP for retail outlets nearby.

Our main recreation center houses the Offices, Fitness Center, Steam Room, Library and General Purpose Room. The pool above is located at its rear. Adjacent buildings house crafts, cards and billiard rooms. There is also an indoor racquet ball court. Nearby is the Yacht Club recreation facility which has an auditorium with Kitchen, and general purpose rooms. Adjacent to building are Bocce Ball courts, a volleyball/basketball court and a Pool and Jacuzzi.

Social activities at Ventana Lakes abound, and in addition to Billiards, Card Circles, Ceramics, Computer Club and Crafts, there is Aquarobics groups, a Bocce Ball group, Horseshoes, Volleyball teams and other special interest activities.

Numerous social dinners and breakfasts are sponsored to raise funds for recreational purposes, and draw large numbers of residents, with special entertainers as well as varied menus.  The major social events and meetings are held at the Yacht Club facility about 1/2 mile from the main Recreation Center. Although Ventana Lakes lies thirty minutes distant from Sky Harbor Airport, it is quickly accessible via Loop 101 Interstate and I-10 or I-17. Also, the Arrowhead Shopping Center [about 4 miles distant], with its Mall and nearby commerce centers provide some of the best shopping and dining facilities in the Valley of the Sun.

Recreational Lakes are also easily accessible, with Lake Pleasant being a short twenty minute drive from Ventana Lakes. A number of other amenities are also within twenty minutes driving time, including a Junior College, ASU West Campus, a Wild Life Park, and numerous Medical Offices as well as the Sun Health Offices, Boswell Hospital in Sun City and Del Webb Hospital in Sun City West.  For retired Military, Luke Air Force Base is twelve miles distant, with Medical and Military Retail outlets available. Luke is an F-16 training base.
